Wow, surprise, surprise, but this book really does get 5 stars for me. It was far more enjoyable than any of the previous books and I liked (almost) every part of it.

While I haven't been really enjoying the Agondon part in the "Das Geheimnis im Spiegel", I truly did so in this book, even if it was short. The duel was... for some reason, I really liked it, even though I feel very very sorry for Pellam and his grandpa.
The journey to Zenzau afterward was even more enjoyable, I just love the journeying parts, yes yes.
And when Jem and Rajal ended in the remnants of the once once-great castle, my heart was jumping around with joy. I just loved it, all the way until the battle between the Zenzau's prince army and the Eljand army.
I have to admit, the part with the dragons, especially with Polty and his dragon was quite... weird. Like, really, really weird. But, even though it's sad, a plus point for I don't know... realistic fight of a human against a dragon, where the human just gets wiped away. No fairy tale princes with uber-human strength here, definitely not.

And though it's also sad, I also liked the fact, that the book just doesn't go the all-happy-end way. The Zenzau rebels were crushed, their prince killed, there is not really hope for them anymore, even though I was cheering for them to win. But they didn't. And out of some strange reason I love this book for it. For the sad, melancholic feeling it has all around the story, that even if Jem did get the second stone, it still leaves a bittersweet taste in your mouth and heart.

Sad, sad, there was not enough Beans this time, but Rajal did compensate it very much. I really grew to love the boy. And Poltiss... yes, except of the dragon part, I really loved it from the point he appeared in the tower until he was swallowed up by that weird monster of the woods.
