American Fighters of World War 2 (Airfix Magazine Guide, #14) (Airfix Magazine Guide, #14) (Alan W. Hall) pdf, epub, doc

A very concise and compact title. It is remarkable how much information the author has managed to cram in a mere 64 pages, as he describes 19 aircraft types (13 Army Air Force and six Navy/Marine) and gives 63 photographs to go with the text. And not only the well-known fighters get mentioned here, he alsomanages to give such lesser-known types as the P-63 Kingcobra, P-59 Airacomet, P-43 Lancer, P-80 Shooting Star (from the time it still was an experimental jet fighter bearing the "P" suffix for pursuit aircraft instead of the "F" for fighter), F7F Tigercat and F8F Bearcat, not your everyday US fighters during WW2. In all a sort of miniature version of America's Hundred Thousand: The US Production Fighter Aircraft of World War II (which has 10 times the pages).
